Born in Italy, Ferdinando Chefalo completed eight years of ballet training at the Accademia di Danza Classica Rolf Bertschinger in Lugano and supplemented his skills with vocal and acting training in Vienna. His stage career began at the Landestheater St. Pölten, followed by further engagements at the Theater an der Wien, the Volksoper Wien, the Raimund Theater and the Ronacher, among others. He has appeared in over 3,000 performances and in plays such as Cats, La Cage aux Folles, Man of La Mancha, Grease, Kiss Me Kate, Avanti Avanti!, My Fair Lady, The Farmer as Millionaire, Die Bernauerin, Pariser Leben and many more. His extensive career also includes numerous roles in TV productions such as Alle für die Mafia, Ein Schutzengel auf Reisen, Tatort, Iris und Violetta, Eine kleine Erfrischung, Tonino und Toinette, Julia – eine ungewöhnliche Frau, Die Ohrfeige, Der Kapitän and Medicopter.
For over 35 years, he has also worked as a choreographer and director for events, television and theatre (opening of the 2001 Ski World Championships, Life Ball 2004 and 2005, opening of the Vienna Festival 2023, at the Hamburg Chamber Opera, at Circus Elfi Althoff Jacobi, at the Mnozil Brass World Tour, the Watzmann Tour 2004 and 2009, at the Salzburg Festival, the Vienna Volkstheater and the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien – to name just a few examples).
