Verena Hanser completed her training as a certified speech therapist at the AKH in Vienna, where she also gained her first professional experience at the First ENT University Clinic in the Department of Phoniatrics until 1992. Since 1991, she has also been working in private practice, focusing on voice therapy, speech training and voice coaching. She has collaborated with ENT specialists such as Dr Kürsten Sr. and Dr Kürsten Jr., Univ.-Prof. DDr. Bigenzahn, Univ.-Prof. Dr Temmel and Univ.-Prof. Dr Schneider-Stickler. Her clients are mainly personalities from the arts (singers, actors), politics and business.

Close collaboration with renowned singing teachers and various advanced training courses on the topics of voice (singing and speaking voice), breathing, yoga, meditation, ballet, jazz dance, bodywork and myofunctional therapy have broadened her range of knowledge.

Artistic collaboration as a dialogue, speech and voice coach with Univ.-Prof. Beverly Blankenship on productions at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna: Brundibar at the Austrian Parliament, Die Fledermaus, Jedermann Monologe and King Arthur at the Schönbrunn Palace Theatre. Teaching at the summer courses of the Academia Vocalis in Tyrol.

Verena Hanser has been a trainer for ORF since 2000. In individual training sessions, she works with presenters, correspondents and TV and radio editors on pronunciation, modulation, emphasis, voice control, etc. She was also course leader for the voice service for ORF employees. For many years, she has been holding workshops on the subject of voice in the context of German and communication for the University of Education in Lower Austria.

At the Department of Voice and Musical Theatre at the mdw, she has been a lecturer for breathing and body training (preparation 1–4, main studies 3–6) since 2002, responsible for speech training for students since 2008, and a senior lecturer since 2010.
