Der mdw young research award wurde heuer zum dritten Mal ausgeschrieben: Bedingt durch die Neuerung, dass nicht mehr ausschließlich vorwissenschaftliche Arbeiten eingereicht werden können, haben uns auch 7 künstlerische Abschlussarbeiten („ABA“) erreicht. Unser großer Dank gilt allen Kolleg_innen, die uns in den letzten Wochen im Begutachtungsprozess tatkräftig unterstützt haben! Im Rahmen der isaResearch Summer School möchten wir Sie herzlich zum Gastvortrag "'Noise Not Music'? Urban Sound Between Participation and Disturbance" von Kai Ginkel (Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz) einladen, der am 22.07.2025 um 18:00 Uhr im Bankettsaal mit anschließender Diskussion und Empfang stattfinden wird. Wir freuen uns, mit der isaResearch ein neues Format zur Förderung von Early-stage Researchern im Rahmen der isa zu etablieren und bedanken uns bei den Mitgliedern des wissenschaftlichen Advisory Boards, Scott Edwards, Lisa Gaupp und Magdalena Fürnkranz für ihre Begleitung bei der Erarbeitung des diesjährigen Themas "Sound, Politics, and the Urban Laboratory". The mdw young research award was announced for the third time this year: Due to the innovation that it is no longer only possible to submit pre-scientific theses, we also received 7 artistic theses (‘ABA’). We would like to thank all our colleagues who have actively supported us in the review process over the last few weeks! We would also like to invite you to a public discussion evening with the guest lecture “‘Noise Not Music’? Urban Sound Between Participation and Disturbance” by Kai Ginkel (Anton Bruckner Private University Linz) as part of the isaResearch Summer School on 22 July 22 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Banquet Hall. We are delighted to establish a new format for promoting early-stage researchers within the isa with isaResearch and would like to thank the members of the academic advisory board, Scott Edwards, Lisa Gaupp, and Magdalena Fürnkranz, for their support in developing this year's theme, “Sound, Politics, and the Urban Laboratory.” Further information on all isa events will be available shortly on the isa website.
