Celebrating the centenary of the Salzburg Festival this second volume of Max Reinhardt. Prompt Book of Hugo von Hofmannsthal's Everyman, edited together with Harald Gschwandtner and Edda Fuhrich for the Festival Fonds, is dedicated to transcription and commentary. From an intersectional perspective, my contribution analyses the development of Reinhardt's understanding of "Everyman" from its Berlin premiere to the Salzburg Festival and the later conceptualization of a 'black' version in exile.
