Doris Baumkirchner was born and raised in beautiful Neunkirchen in Lower Austria, where she also completed her schooling. After years of experience as an office worker with a diverse and interesting range of responsibilities, she moved to Vienna in 2003 to work at the Department of Music Acoustics – Wiener Klangstil at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Here she took over as maternity cover for the department secretary, which she enjoyed so much (in her own words: "I quickly realised that working in this musical, creative and incredibly varied field would give me a lot of pleasure!") that she completed the basic training course Academy 2005 at the mdw in 2005.

Since September 2005, Ms Baumkirchner has been working with great enthusiasm as a librarian at our department. She enjoys the artistic environment, working with students and teaching staff, and appreciates the often friendly atmosphere here at the department. 

At the mdw, she appreciates the good networking and cooperation with colleagues from other departments as well as the many opportunities for further training. Ms Baumkirchner is delighted to be part of this great institution.
