mdw Post- Doc Fellowships
Ende der Einreichfrist: 10.06.2025 2025 schreibt die mdw zum dritten Mal ein Post- Doc Fellowship aus, das gezielt Early-stage Researchers nach Abschluss ihres Doktorats in Hinblick auf eine weitere wissenschaftliche Karriere unterstützen. Die Förderung ist Teil des Maßnahmenpakets zur Umsetzung der Forschungsstrategie. Das Fellowship steht Early-stage Researchers aller Disziplinen offen, die planen, einen Antrag im ESPRIT-Programm des FWF oder anderen PostDoc-Förderschienen* zu stellen, oder die eine neuerliche Einreichung eines Antrags beabsichtigen, da dieser z.B. trotz ausgezeichneter Bewertung nicht gefördert werden konnte. Das Post-Doc Fellowship in Form eines Beschäftigungsverhältnisses mit der mdw ist bis spätestens Dezember 2025 anzutreten. Die Förderentscheidung wird von einer interdisziplinären Jury (mdw-intern sowie extern) getroffen. Antragsberechtigte: Post-Docs innerhalb der ersten 4 Jahre nach Abschluss ihres Doktorats ohne Habilitation, entweder mit Abschluss an der mdw oder einem Arbeitsverhältnis mit der mdw in den letzten 2 Jahren vor der Antragstellung. Auswahlkriterien:
Die Förderentscheidung für das Post-Doc Fellowship der mdw erfolgt im Hinblick auf die Wahrscheinlichkeit einer erfolgreichen zukünftigen Einreichung. Antragsteller_innen sind dazu angehalten, im Antragsformular auf Fristen und Anforderungen des jeweiligen Förderprogramms einzugehen und relevante Informationen offenzulegen. Vertrag: Befristetes Arbeitsverhältnis (3 bis 6 Monate) gem. Kollektivvertrag. Die Anstellung erfolgt an den jeweiligen Instituten/Forschungszentren. Beschäftigungsausmaß: Teilzeit. Es werden Personalkosten bis max. 15.000 € (inklusive Dienstgeberanteil) je Anstellungsverhältnis gefördert. Das Beschäftigungsausmaß wird entsprechend vereinbart. Mindestentgelt: Gem. Kollektivvertrag wird das monatliche Bruttoentgelt auf Basis der Einstufung in die Gehaltsgruppe B1 Stufe 3 und dem vereinbarten Beschäftigungsausmaß individuell festgesetzt. Das monatliche Mindestentgelt beträgt bei Vollbeschäftigung (100%) aktuell € 4.932,90 Brutto. Einreichung: Die Anträge sind bis 10.06.2025 per Online-Formular ausschließlich auf Englisch, einzureichen. Berichtslegung: Nach Ende des Post-Doc Fellowships ist der Forschungsförderung innerhalb von max. 2 Monaten ein kurzer inhaltlicher Bericht über die Aktivitäten sowie die Dokumentation zum eingereichten Drittmittelantrag bzw. zur geplanten Einreichung vorzulegen. Beratung zu Drittmittelanträgen: Den Antragsteller_innen wird empfohlen, frühzeitig eine Beratung der Forschungsförderung zu Drittmittelanträgen in Anspruch zu nehmen: Vitali Bodnar, Projektservice: bodnar@mdw.ac.at). Weitere Informationen: Doppelförderungen sind ausgeschlossen. Sach- und Reisekosten werden nicht im Rahmen der Fellowships abgegolten, es kann aber gegebenenfalls eine gesonderte Förderung (z.B Anschubfinanzierung für Projektanträge oder International Mobility for Early-stage Researchers) beantragt werden. mdw Post-Doc Fellowship
Application deadline: 10.06.2025 In 2025 the mdw offers for the third time a Post-Doc Fellowship aimed at supporting early-stage researchers after the completion of their doctoral studies. The Fellowship is part of a set of measures taken to implement the mdw’s Research Strategy. The fellowship is open to early-stage researchers from all disciplines who plan on submitting a proposal to the ESPRIT programme of the FWF or other post-doc funding programmes*, or who intend on re-submitting a proposal that has not been funded despite excellent evaluation. The successful candidate should be able to start their Post-Doc Fellowship position by latest december 2025. The funding decision will be made by an interdisciplinary jury (mdw internal and external). Eligible to apply: Post-Docs within the first 4 years after completion of their doctorate studies without habilitation, either with a degree from the mdw or an employment relationship with the mdw in the last 2 years prior to application. Selection criteria:
The funding decision for the Post-Doc Fellowship of the mdw is made in view of the probability of a successful future submission. Applicants are encouraged to address deadlines and requirements of the respective funding programme in the application form and to disclose relevant information. Contract: Temporary employment (3 to 6 months) according to collective agreement ("Kollektivvertrag"). The fellows are employed at the respective Department/Research Center. Employment: Part-time. Personnel costs up to a maximum of € 15,000 (including the employer’s social security contribution/“Dienstgeberanteil”) per position are funded. The scope of employment will be agreed on accordingly. Minimum wage: According to the collective agreement, the gross monthly salary is individually determined on the basis of the classification in salary group B1/3 and the agreed scope of employment. The minimum monthly salary for full employment (100%) is € 4.932,90 gross. Submission of applications: Applications are possible until 10.06.2025 via the dedicated online form and are to be submitted exclusively in English. Reporting: The Post-Doc Fellow is asked to submit a short report of activities and documentation of the submitted external funding proposal or a status report of the planned submission to the Research Support Office within 2 months after the end of the fellowship. If the proposal for third party funding is submitted later (in justified cases), this documentation has to be handed in subsequently. Consultation on third-party funding applications: Applicants are advised to consult at an early stage the Research Support Office via Vitali Bodnar, Project Service: bodnar@mdw.ac.at, regarding third-party funding applications. Further information: Double funding is not permitted. Material and travel costs cannot be covered within the fellowships, however, fellows may submit separate applications to have such costs reimbursed (e.g. Initial support for project proposals or International Mobility for Early-Stage Researchers), if applicable.
