50 years of IKM – Institute for Cultural Management and Gender Studies
Founded in 1975 as the “Institute for Cultural Management, Artistic Business Management and Public Relations”, the IKM now works on an interdisciplinary basis in the fields of cultural management, cultural institution studies, cultural policy research and cultural studies – and for the past 20 years has also provided a venue for the development of gender studies at the mdw.
Programme
As part of the reConnect mdw Alumni Festival, a varied programme will be offered on the mdw campus over three days: Join us in discussing current developments in cultural management, take a look behind the scenes of Vienna's largest cultural institutions, participate in a variety of concerts, films and discussions, meet old acquaintances for coffee or make new contacts over a round of mini golf in the auditorium.
With a multifaceted programme and lively exchanges with students, graduates, companions and anyone interested in the work of the IKM, we want to shed light on current trends in cultural institutions and cultural management, take a look back at the developments and achievements of the past 50 years, and develop visions and strategies for the future of the cultural sector and the IKM.
