Together with Fatima Naqvi and Sebastian Kirsch she just published \u00bbChorische Figurationen\u00ab (<em>Germanic Review<\/em>)<em>.<\/em> Her forthcoming book <em>Dirty Dragging<\/em> deals with transoceanic perspectives on mimesis (mdwPress).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ralf von Appen<\/strong> ist Professor f\u00fcr Theorie und Geschichte der Popularmusik an der Universit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. Er studierte Musikwissenschaft, Philosophie und Psychologie an der JLU Gie\u00dfen und promovierte dort 2007 mit der Arbeit \u00bbDer Wert der Musik. Zur \u00c4sthetik des Popul\u00e4ren\u00ab. Seine Schwerpunkte sind \u00c4sthetik und Wertung, Geschichte sowie Methoden der Analyse popul\u00e4rer Musiken. Von 2008 bis 2020 war er Vorsitzender der Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Popularmusikforschung (GfPM), seit 2017 ist er Herausgeber der Reihe Beitr\u00e4ge zur Popularmusikforschung im transcript Verlag. Her main research areas include the music industries and digitisation, popular music and gender, cultural labour, and popular music and politics. She has co-edited the books <em>Made in Hungary: Studies in Popular Music<\/em> (2017, Routledge), <em>Popular Music, Technology, and the Changing Media Ecosystem: From Cassettes to Stream<\/em> (2020, Palgrave), and <em>Popul\u00e1ris kult\u00fara \u00e9s politika<\/em> (\u201cPopular culture and politics\u201d, 2024, Typotex), and published articles in <em>First Monday,<\/em> <em>Popular Music &amp; Society<\/em>, and <em>Popular Music<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarah Chaker<\/strong> ist Assistenzprofessorin am Institut f\u00fcr Musiksoziologie der mdw \u2013 Universit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. In ihrer Dissertation an der Carl von Ossietzky Universit\u00e4t Oldenburg erforschte sie den Umgang von Black- und Death-Metal-Anh\u00e4nger*innen in Deutschland mit ihrer Musik. Ihre Forschungsinteressen umfassen aktuell das Feld der Stra\u00dfenmusik, popul\u00e4re Musiken (insb. Metal) und Musikvermittlung. 2023 wurde ihr der \u00d6sterreichische Staatspreis <em>Ars Docendi<\/em> f\u00fcr exzellente Lehre verliehen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gabriele Dietze<\/strong> lehrt und forscht zu Gender, Race, Media, Sexualpolitik und Rechtspopulismus an der Humboldt Universit\u00e4t zu Berlin und am Dartmouth College N.H. Bis 2023 war sie Fellow der Volkswagenstiftung mit dem Corona-Projekt \u00bbQuarantine Culture\u00ab. Zuletzt: <em>Sexueller Exzeptionalismus. \u00dcber\u00adlegen\u00adheits\u00adnarrative in Immigrationsabwehr und Rechtspopulismus<\/em>, Bielefeld (tran\u00adscript) 2019; zusammen mit Julia Roth (Hg.), <em>Right-Wing Populism and Gender in Europe and Beyond<\/em>, Bielefeld (tran\u00adscript) 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andr\u00e9 Doehring<\/strong> (Dr. phil.) is professor for jazz and popular music studies and director of the Institute for Jazz Research at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz (Austria). He is a musicologist and sociologist and has been leading the Austrian part of the international project \u00bbPopular Music and the Rise of Populism in Europe\u00ab (Volkswagen Foundation, 2019-2022).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof. Dr. Mario Dunkel<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0professor\u00a0of music education at the Music Department of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany. He holds a PhD in American studies from TU Dortmund University. His main research areas are music and politics, the history and practice of jazz, as well as transcultural music pedagogy. He was the principal investigator of the European research project \u00bbPopular Music and the Rise of Populism in Europe\u00ab (2019-2023, funded by the Volkswagen Foundation).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Silke Felber<\/strong> ist habilitierte Theater- und Kulturwissenschafterin. Derzeit leitet sie das Einzelprojekt \u00bbPerforming Gender in View oft he Outbreak\u00ab (FWF) an der mdw \u2013 Universit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. Sie ist Preistr\u00e4gerin der renommierten Grants Hertha Firnberg (2016) und Elise Richter (2018) des \u00f6sterreichischen Wissenschaftsfonds FWF. 2023 erhielt sie einen ERC Consolidator Grant f\u00fcr ihr Projekt \u00bbOLFAC \u2013 Olfactormativity: Exploring the Intervening Performativity of Smell\u00ab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kai Ginkel<\/strong> (Dr. phil.) is postdoc researcher at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (Austria) for the project \u00bbPopular Music and the Rise of Populism in Europe\u00ab (Volkswagen Foundation). He studied sociology, psychology, and political science and wrote his dissertation on noise music and the sociology of sound.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrea Glauser<\/strong> ist Professorin f\u00fcr Kulturwissenschaft am Institut f\u00fcr Kulturmanagement und Gender Studies, mdw \u2013\u00a0Universit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte umfassen Kunst- und Kultursoziologie, Stadtforschung, Sozial- und Kulturtheorien, Weltgesellschaftsforschung und Methoden der qualitativen Sozialforschung. Sie war Mitherausgeberin des multilingualen Web Journals transversal.at (bis 2012) sowie der Sammelb\u00e4nde <em>Nach Bourdieu: Visualita\u0308t, Kunst, Politik<\/em> (2008), <em>Transkulturelle Erkundungen: wissenschaftlich-k\u00fcnstlerische Perspektiven<\/em> (2019) und <em>Knowing in Performing. Artistic Research in Music and the Performing Arts<\/em> (2021).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Reinhard Kopanski<\/strong> holds a PhD in musicology from the University of Siegen; his dissertation was published in March 2022 (Bezugnahmen auf den Nationalsozialismus in der popul\u00e4ren Musik. Lesarten zu Laibach, Death In June, Feindflug, Rammstein und Marduk. M\u00fcnster: Waxmann). His fields of research include (amongst others) music and politics\/ideology\/religion, metal music, music and technology. He was the scientific coordinator of the research project \u00bbPopular Music and the Rise of Populism in Europe\u00ab and is associated member of the Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1472 \u00bbTransformationen des Popul\u00e4ren\u00ab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Susanne Lettow<\/strong> ist Privatdozentin am Institut f\u00fcr Philosophie und leitet den Forschungsbereich am Margherita-von-Brentano-Zentrum f\u00fcr Geschlechterforschung der Freien Universit\u00e4t Berlin. Zu ihren Arbeitsschwerpunkten geh\u00f6ren Sozialphilosophie und kritische Gesellschaftstheorie, feministische Theorie sowie Geschichte, Theorie und Kritik der Biopolitik. Sie war Fellow am Institut f\u00fcr die Wissenschaften vom Menschen in Wien und hatte Gastprofessuren am Zentrum f\u00fcr Geschlechterforschung der Universit\u00e4t Basel, am Institut f\u00fcr Politikwissenschaft der Universit\u00e4t Wien, am Fachbereich Gesellschaftswissenschaften der Goethe-Universit\u00e4t Frankfurt sowie am Institut f\u00fcr Philosophie der Freien Universit\u00e4t Berlin inne. Sie der ist derzeit Principal Investigator im Teilprojekt \u00bbEigentum am menschlichen K\u00f6rper im Kontext transnationaler Reproduktions\u00f6konomien\u00ab des SFB\/TRR \u00bbStrukturwandel des Eigentums\u00ab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachel Mader<\/strong> ist Kunstwissenschaftlerin. Seit 2012 leitet sie das Kompetenzzentrum Kunst, Design &amp; \u00d6ffentlichkeit an der Hochschule Luzern \u2013 Design Film Kunst. Sie verantwortet sowohl praxisbasierte Forschungsprojekte zu k\u00fcnstlerischer Selbstorganisation und Kulturpolitik, k\u00fcnstlerische Kollektivit\u00e4t, dem Sammeln ephemerer Kunst (Live Performances), Kunstschulen als Heterotopien sowie Projekte in der Grundlagenforschung zu Themen wie k\u00fcnstlerischer Forschung, den Institutional Studies, Ambiguit\u00e4t in der Kunst oder auch Kunst und Politik. Mader ist Co-Pr\u00e4sidentin des Swiss Artistic Research Network (SARN).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monika Mokre<\/strong> arbeitet als Politikwissenschaftlerin am Institut f\u00fcr Kulturwissenschaften der \u00d6sterreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und lehrt an mehreren Universit\u00e4ten u.a. der mdw &#8211; Universit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. Sie ist Vorsitzende des eipcp &#8211; European Institute for Progressive Cultural Policies. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Asyl, Migration und Gef\u00e4ngnis, Demokratietheorie, Kulturpolitik und Gender Studies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cornelia M\u00f6ser<\/strong> ist Wissenschaftlerin am franz\u00f6sischen Centre national de la recherche scientifique und arbeitet am Centre de recherches sociologiques et politiques de Paris in der Forschungsgruppe \u00bbGeschlecht, Arbeit, Mobilit\u00e4ten\u00ab, deren Leiterin sie \u00fcberdies ist. Seit 2013 ist sie assoziierte Forscherin am Berliner Centre Marc Bloch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c1gnes Patakfalvi-Czirj\u00e1k<\/strong>, PhD, is a sociologist-anthropologist. Between 2020 and 2022, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology and Communication of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, now she is an assistant professor at the same department. Her main research areas are connected to nationalism studies, such as Hungarian nationhood and everyday nationalism in Central and Eastern Europe. Her book <em>A sz\u00e9kely z\u00e1szl\u00f3 a politik\u00e1t\u00f3l a h\u00e9tk\u00f6znapokig<\/em> (\u201cThe Szekler Flag from Politics to Everyday Life\u201d) was published in 2021 by Napvil\u00e1g. She co-edited the book <em>Popul\u00e1ris kult\u00fara \u00e9s politika<\/em> (\u201cPopular culture and politics\u201d), 2024, Typotex.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drehli Robnik<\/strong> ist Essayist und Theoriedienstleister in Sachen Geschichte, Film und Politik, sowie Edutainer und Disk-Jockey. Er \u00bblebt\u00ab in Wien-Erdberg und ist Veranstalter der Vortragsreihe <em>PolitikProjektionen<\/em> und des Musik-Clubs <em>Sonntag\u2019sdisco<\/em> in Wien.
