Against the backdrop of right-wing populism, #metoo, and the climate crisis, the author crosses the gaze of Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides, thereby traversing and\/or queering categorizations in terms of gender, class, and ethnicity.<span id=\"more-1590\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Silke Felber describes Jelinek\u2019s<em> theater of (tragedy) traversal<\/em> for the first time at the intersection of theater, literary, and cultural studies. In the form of a material-rich study, this foundational work brings to light gestures of lament and rage that point back to antiquity and, at the same time, to an uncertain future.<\/p>\n<p>The book will be published on 27 November 2023 with mdwPress.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>With introductory remarks from Prof. Dr. Evelyn Annu\u00df (mdw) and a response from Asst.-Prof. Dr. Teresa Kovacs (Indiana University Bloomington).<\/p>\n<p>About the author:<br \/>\nSilke Felber teaches and researches at the interface of theatre studies, literary studies and cultural studies.
