Mag.a, PhD Hande SAĞLAM (Archive, Deputy Director)
Was born 1968 in Istanbul, Turkey. She got her Magister artium in music theory from the mdw Vienna and received her doctoral degree in ethnomusicology from the Institute of Folk Music Research and Ethnomusicology, at the same University with the thesis “Âşık-Tradition in Sivas – Differences among Alevi and Sunni Âşıks”.
Since 2005 she has been working at the University’s Institute of Folk Music Research and Ethnomusicology (IVE). Research fellow in the projects: “Music Making of Immigrants in Vienna” (2005-2006), “Embedded Industries, Cultural Entrepreneurs in Different Immigrant Communities of Vienna” (2007-2009), “Bi-Musicality of Students of University for Music and Performing Art Vienna” (2009-2010), „Digitizing and Archiving of audio-visual Collection of the Institute of Folk Music Research and Ethnomusicology” (2011-2015), “Musical Identifications of Muslims in Graz” (2013-2015) and Music without borders. Multilingualism in music (bi- and/or multi-musicality) and understanding the 'other' and the unfamiliar (2015-2017). Since July 2015 she is the head of the Archive of IVE.
