Wir gratulieren Beatriz Herrera Corado zur Bewilligung des Gender|Queer|Diversity-Calls (GQD-Call) 2026 zur Entwicklung des Projekts „Ancestral Futurities: Encounters with Heritage in Contemporary Dance and Choreographic Practices“. Die offene Ausschreibung zur Teilnahme an den Workshops läuft bis zum 7. September. Das akademische Nachmittagsprogramm ist kostenlos; eine Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich. Vom 23. bis 29. September findet das 10. Symposium der ICTMD Study Group on Music and Dance in Southeastern Europe an unserer Universität statt. Das Programm finden Sie auf der Webseite.

• 6. November 2026, 18.30: Filmvorführung "Beyond Tradition. Kraft der Naturstimmen", von Rahel von Gunten und Lea Hagmann. Anschließend Q&A mit Dr. Lea Hagmann.

Symposium der Study Group for Music and Dance in Southeastern Europe des ICTMD – International Council for Traditions of Music and Dance

Das 10. Symposium der Study Group for Music and Dance in Southeastern Europe bringt Musik- und Tanzforscher*innen sowie Künstler*innen zusammen, die auf der Balkanhalbinsel und in den umliegenden Regionen tätig sind.  Die Veranstaltung umfasst Podiumsdiskussionen, Rundtischgespräche und Vorträge zu drei Symposiumsthemen. Neben wissenschaftlichen Beiträgen zu den Themen „Migration“ und „Politik der Ausgrenzung“, die für den Veranstaltungsort Wien von besonderer Relevanz sind, bietet das Symposium auch Beiträge zu den Themen „Musik und Tanz als Arbeit – ökonomische Aspekte von Klang und Bewegung“ sowie gesellschaftspolitisch orientierte Einblicke in „Forschung und Aktivismus in Musik und Tanz“. Das Rahmenprogramm des Symposiums umfasst zahlreiche themenbezogene Konzerte, Abendveranstaltungen, studentische Aufführungen, Workshops und eine Exkursion in das kroatische Dorf Stinjaki im Südburgenland.

Symposium

10th Symposium of the Study Group on Music and Dance of Southeastern Europe of the ICTMD – International Council for Traditions of Music and Dance

The 10th ICTMD (International Council for Traditional Music and Dance) Study Group Symposium on Music and Dance in Southeastern Europe brings together music and dance researchers and artists working on the Balkan Peninsula and surrounding regions. The event features panels, roundtables, and paper presentations on three symposium themes. In addition to scholarship related to Migration and the Politics of Othering, particularly relevant to the symposium’s venue, Vienna, the symposium will also feature contributions to the topics Music and Dance as Labor – Economic Aspects of Sound and Movement, and socio-politically oriented insights into Research and Activism in Music and Dance. The symposium’s frame program encompasses numerous topical concerts, evening programmes, student performances, workshops, and an excursion day to the Croatian village of Stinjaki in Southern Burgenland.
