1. SAR Conference 2025

The 16th International Conference on Artistic Research, with the theme of Resonance, invites engagement with the transformative character of artistic research as a unifying element that elicits a response and renders our experiences meaningful.

2. Lecture Performance: Seven Chambers of the Heart. Staging Philosophy

5. Final Presentation by Birgitta Flick

Date: June 27, 2025, 4:30 PM

This lecture performance aims to retrace the intertwined artistic and reflective paths of Birgitta Flick’s doctoral artistic research project in which she explored the multiplicity of entangled activities in which a musical composition is involved within her practice as a composer and saxophonist-improviser—thus examining some of the manifold transformations and relations that unfold between all participants of creating through their interacting.

6. Final Presentation by Brigitte Wilfing: choreographic composition

I have learnt that dancing, I can trust my thinking. In this auto-theoretical dance-lecture-performance, which emphasizes the corporeal dimension of thinking, I immerse myself once again in the fabulating milieu, in the potentia of the choreographic compositions, to interweave the already experienced, my sensorial, physical, analytical and poetic reflection with the yet unknown.

1. SAR Konferenz 2025

Die 16. Internationale Konferenz für künstlerische Forschung mit dem Thema Resonanz lädt dazu ein, sich mit dem transformativen Charakter der künstlerischen Forschung als verbindendes Element zu befassen, das eine Reaktion hervorruft und unsere Erfahrungen als bedeutsam qualifiziert.

Bei der Konferenz wird Thomas Grill (ARC) eine Vortragsperformance zu Dirty Spaces präsentieren—einer Reihe performativer Arbeiten, die im Rahmen von Spirits in Complexity—Making Kin with Experimental Music Systems entwickelt wurden.

Unser Doktorand Ettore Biagi wird auf dieser Konferenz die Ergebnisse seiner Forschung unter dem Titel Phædrus – Ecological Actions of Resonance Through Uncharted Music präsentieren.

Von Platon bis Nietzsche, von Sri Aurobindo bis Mirra Alfassa, von Ronell bis Cixous—so viele Philosoph*innen wurden schließlich zu Poet*innen. Aber warum? Unsere Antwort ist einfach, ja naive: Weil ihr sensibilisierter Geschmack nicht mehr gegen, sondern mit dem Herzen dachte. Für sie wurde das Denken zu einer Angelegenheit von Herz und Verstand, die Hand in Hand gingen.

Diese Lecture Performance geht den ineinander verschlungenen musikalischen und reflexiven Pfaden von Birgitta Flicks künstlerischem Doktoratsprojekt nach, worin sie die Vielzahl ineinander verwobener Aktivitäten, in die eine Komposition in ihrer Praxis als Komponistin und Improvisationsmusikerin/Saxophonistin involviert ist, untersucht hat—und worin sie dadurch einige der vielfältigen Verwandlungen und der Beziehungen erkundet hat, die sich zwischen allen Beteiligten dieser kreativen Aktivitäten durch ihr Interagieren entfalten.

Ich habe gelernt, dass ich im Tanz meinem Denken vertrauen kann. In dieser auto-theoretischen Dance-Lecture-Performance, die die leibliche Dimension des Denkens betont, tauche ich erneut in das fabulierende Milieu, in die potentia der choreografischen Kompositionen ein, um das bereits Erfahrene, meine sensorische, körperliche, analytische und poetische Reflexion mit dem noch Unbekannten zu verweben.
