☞  Interdisciplinary symposium organised by doctoal candidates in Linz

"Overcoming Boundaries. A Dialogue Between Artistic and Scholarly Research" is an interdisciplinary symposium of the doctoral programmes of the Anton Bruckner University. It is the second symposium in the series of PARL-NEXT GENERATION which is exclusively organised by doctoral candidates. For this year's edition, taking place May 26-28, 2025, there is a call for contributions inviting doctoral students and post docs to participate and exchange. The deadline for the call is April 16, 2025.

 

☞ isaResearch Summer School 2025

The isaResearch Summer School is an interdisciplinary and international forum for early-stage researchers taking place from 21-23 July 2025 on campus of the mdw. The three-day workshop invites applications from PhD students and other early-stage researchers from disciplines including (but not limited to) Musicology, Dance and Performance Studies, Urban Studies, Artistic Research, Queer Theory, Cultural Studies, Music Theory, Indigenous Studies, Music Sociology, Critical Race Studies, Ethnomusicology, Popular Music Studies, Post-Colonial Studies, Art History, and Film and Media Studies. Presentation proposals should be connected to the topic of the participant’s thesis or current research project and can be submitted until April 28, 2025. Contact: Kathrin Heinrich isaresearch@mdw.ac.at


Reach higher, reach beyond. Mentoring programme for pre- and postdocs at the mdw (women, inter* and non-binary persons)

The mdw invites nine pre- and postdoc researchers to participate in a mentoring programme that aims to support women, inter* and non-binary persons in the development of their personal careers. The profgramme is composed of four elements: a skills training, mentoring in small groups, coaching and the peer group. The three skills training modules represent a significant component of this mentoring programme. This offer was initiated by the Administrative Department for Equality, Gender Studies & Diversity in cooperation with the Office of Research Support and the Center for Further Education (ZfW). Deadline for applications: May 11, 2025.

The LBG Career Center offers a series of expert talks such as "Careers beyond academia in Research Management" by Aliette Dörflinger. If you are a researcher considering a career beyond academia, research management might be an exciting opportunity for you. The talk will be in English, online via zoom on May 9, 2025 10 AM – 11:30 AM. Please register here.


Open Pre-Doc Position at mdw

The Department of Musicology and Performance Studies at mdw is seeking to fill a position as University Assistant (Prae-Doc) starting October 1, 2025. Scope of employment: part-time (50%) Contract: fixed-term employment for 4 years in accordance with the collective agreement. For details see here. Deadline for applications: May 7, 2025.
