Seed Money Initiative

AMMR-STIPENDIATIN LINDA CIMARDI

Das MMRC freut sich, die erste Sipendiatin im Rahmen der Seed Money Initiative "Advancing Music and Minorities Research" bekannt geben zu dürfen: Linda Cimardi. Als AMMR-Stipendiatin am MMRC wird Cimardi ein Forschungsprojekt zum Thema "Black Musics in the Yugoslav and Post-Yugoslav Space" entwickeln. Der Projektantrag wird dann für eine Finanzierung im Rahmen des MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships Programms der Europäischen Union eingereicht werden.

TAGUNG "MACHT DER MUSIK. MINDERHEITENPOLITISCHE INTERVENTIONEN"

Die Tagung "Macht der Musik. Minderheitenpolitische Interventionen" von Freitag, 28. bis Samstag, 29. Oktober 2022 geht der Rolle von Musik und Tanz in minoritären Zusammenhängen in Österreich nach. An zwei Tagen treffen Musiker*innen/Aktivist*innen und Wissenschaftler*innen aufeinander, um anhand unterschiedlicher thematischer Schwerpunkte Musik- und Tanzpraxis, politischen Aktivismus und ethnomusikologische Forschung miteinander in Austausch zu bringen. Eine Filmreihe in Kooperation mit dem Filmcasino Wien, ein Konzert und eine abschließende Party begleiten die Tagung.

Die Veranstaltung wird in Kooperation mit der Initiative Minderheiten organisiert.

We are also pleased to announce that after the cancellation in March, a new date could be found for the Lecture-Concert "Challenging the Theater of Memory: Yiddish Song beyond Kitsch and Stereotype" by Benjy Fox-Rosen and Isabel Frey: Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 7:30 pm.

Seed Money Initiative

AMMR GRANTEE LINDA CIMARDI

MMRC is pleased to announce the first grantee under the Seed Money Initiative "Advancing Music and Minorities Research": Linda Cimardi. As an AMMR grantee at MMRC, Cimardi will develop a research project on "Black Musics in the Yugoslav and Post-Yugoslav Space". The project proposal will then be submitted for funding within the European Union's MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships funding programme.

CONFERENCE "MACHT DER MUSIK. MINDERHEITENPOLITISCHE INTERVENTIONEN"

The German-language conference "Macht der Musik. Minderheitenpolitische Interventionen" from Friday, October 28 to Saturday, October 29, 2022, explores the role of music and dance in minority contexts in Austria. For two days, musicians/activists and scholars will meet to bring music and dance practice, political activism and ethnomusicological research into an exchange with each other by focusing on various topics. A film series in cooperation with Filmcasino Wien, a concert and a closing party will complement the conference.

The event is organized in cooperation with Initiative Minderheiten.
