Dear rhythmics teachers!
Dear rhythmics students!
The 50th anniversary of the founding of the Department of
Rhythmics at the University of Music and Performing Arts
Vienna motivates us to take a look at the past. But
examination of what has been also gives rise to questions
of what is to come. In which direction will rhythmics move
in the Europe of the future?
Our German title, "Bewegte Zeiten", also denotes "time to
be alive" – and aware. This is especially appropriate to
rhythmics. Sensory awareness, movement and musicality are
skills mankind uses to perceive the world, to enter into
relationships and to express what is experienced in life.
time in motion should be an occasion for intensive
professional exchange. The congress offers an interesting
selection of topics and subjects taught in rhythmics
departments in Europe today. In workshops and lectures,
numerous special guests will give insights into their work
and teaching. Artistic selections from various educational
institutions will be performed in three evening sessions.
Several discussion forums will serve as opportunities for
exchange of information and ideas.
