The Accompagnato-Project

The starting point of the planned project is the one-year training course for teachers, "accompagnato - Bridges between the Teacher's Studies and his or her Profession" The participants are students as well as music teachers in the beginning years or even experienced professionals. They are trained, or still being trained as teachers for the levels I and II of the secondary school programm of the general education system. The fusion of these both target groups should form the base for a new definition of the training of music teachers. Training, vocation and continuing education are being understood as different, distinctly defined phases of a broad progression in the setting of a "lifelong development". This programm emphasises strongly individualized learning methods and a constant network combining the practice with theoretical inputs, practical teaching exercises and reflexion at group level.

The following main activities are part of the programm:

The adapatation of the concept in the different partner countries;
the concept expansion by means of e-learning elements.

The following aspects are considered:

The effective realization and intensification of the course through individually suited learning possibilities and e-learning;
a specific consideration and deliberation on teaching concepts of the teacher training in various countries;
to explore the particular prospects of e-learning and provide a training model wisely combining seminars requiring personal attendance as well as on-line learning options;
the implementation of a training course on universities that would also adequately integrate working students.
