Save the Date: The 17th International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna takes places from May 16 – 24, 2025!

Open to all pianists born after January 1, 1993. The Final Round with orchestra will take place in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein Vienna.

The International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna is Austria’s oldest international piano competition and ranks among the most renowned music competitions today. Founded more than 60 years ago, it is hosted by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. The artistic director is Jan Jiracek von Arnim.

Pianists of all nationalities, born after January 1, 1993, may apply for the competition. The application process opens in May 2024. Repertoire requirements here.

Since 1958, the International Beethoven Piano Competition is a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions.

Our most recent first prize winner Aris Alexander Blettenberg (winner of the 16th International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna) has recorded his solo debut album “Hommage à Beethoven” for Deutsche Grammophon (2023). Please find more information here
