ERWIN ORTNER

Born in Vienna, member of the Vienna Boys’ Choir under Ferdinand Grossmann, studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (music pedagogy, church music, conducting with Hans Swarowsky, choral conducting with Hans Gillesberger), since 1980 full professor for choral conducting and choral vocal training, from 1996 to 2002, dean during the transition from Academy to University of Music and Performing Arts, founder and artistic director of the ARNOLD SCHOENBERG CHOIR, director of the choir of the Austrian Broadcasting from 1983 until its dissolution in 1995, head of master classes for choral and orchestral conducting, including the Internationale Chorakademie Krems, guest conductor in Austria and abroad.
