MARIA HÖLLER
Born on 12 August 1948 in Wels, Upper Austria. Studies at the Bruckner
Conservatory in Linz and at the University of Music and Performing Arts
in Vienna (music pedagogy, voice, recorder).
Activities as a singer
As soloist of the ensemble for early music Les Menestrels from 1979 to
1990, radio and record productions, concerts throughout Europe and in
America. From 1983 to 1989 member and soloist of the ORF Choir in Vienna,
with emphasis on music of the 20th century including numerous world premieres
by L. Berio, Fr. Cerha, W. Rihm, and others. Soprano in the solistic vocal
ensemble Voces with music of the Renaissance and the 20th century. As
a concert singer: world premieres of numerous Austrian composers, such
as M. Radulescu, G. Waldek, U. Küchl, Cl. Brandstätter, O. Neuwirth,
P. Planyavsky, and W. Sauseng. Soprano soloist for the passions and cantatas
of J. S. Bach as well as the oratorio Messiah by G. Fr. Handel in Austria,
Switzerland, Italy, and Denmark.
Activities as a voice trainer
Since 1989 lecturer, then staff lecturer of voice and song (for majors
and
compulsory courses) at the University of Music and Performing Arts in
Vienna
at the current Institutes 1, 2, and 8.
In addition, intensive work on training the voices of young people. For
years
vocal trainer at the Austrian Youth Choral Academy of the Sängerbund
and at
the Knabensingwochen of the Südtiroler Sängerbund. Work with
youth
choirs.
Lecturer at continuing education seminars for choral conducting in Vienna,
Lower Austria, Upper Austria, and South Tyrol.
Works on vocal training with choirs.
Lecturer on Baroque song at the Bach Academy 2000 in Klagenfurt.
